Francesca Woodman Smiles
When I first went into Bottom Feeder Books in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh I knew I wanted this brilliantly curated shop to flourish and prosper. Ryan McLennan, the owner, has an incredible eye for books and photography and even the music that is played. I want to spend hours there exploring books I never knew existed, and ones I totally forgot about. They also have a small gallery I was introduced to when my friend Paul Rosenblat had a show there last spring. Ryan and I talked and came up with this idea to show a collection of my Francesca Woodman images. Many prints from my 2019 MCA Denver show “Portrait of A Reputation” and some new discoveries we have just scanned and printed. It has been wild holding a magnifying loop to the negatives I shot so long ago and seeing the images come to life. Also available will be the Rizzoli book from the MCA show which combines Francesca’s and my own images from our time together at RISD.
If you are not familiar with Francesca’s work there is a lot to explore (try streaming the documentary, "The Woodmans"). If you are interested in my chapter of the story, there is a great interview here.
I will be at the opening this Saturday night, November 2 from 6-8. Signing books. Giving a little tour of the work. And I will be VERY happy just before the election to be with friends. Come join us!
The show runs through November 30. 8x10” signed prints of image in the show will be available through my studio (studio@langestudio.com) as well as a whole collection of new prints we have been making this fall.
Whenever a website includes an account page, I think visitors should understand the instructions before entering their information. The DiuWin login section is something to examine carefully when learning about the platform. I would check whether the page explains its fields clearly and provides links to relevant account or privacy guidance. It is also important to confirm that the website address is correct. These habits are useful for anyone navigating unfamiliar online services and help keep personal information security in focus.

What a deeply moving and unique perspective on Francesca Woodman. Showing her warmth and smile brings such a human, nuanced layer to an artist who is so often remembered only for darker themes. Was actually taking a quick break playing on minigame (love that it’s completely free and instant to play) when I stumbled upon this reflection. Thank you for sharing such a poignant visual memory!
جلب الحبيب
