DICK'S SPORTING GOODS

I have photographed many baseball games starting on the cold wet late spring days in Boulder and continuing through steamy afternoons in Cooperstown where wooden bats and rock, paper, and scissors were the order of the day. Many of the pictures take place around the chain link cages built as dugouts. Inside kids yell, “Rock the pitcher” over and over while parents try to coach with their fingers reaching through the fences. Hydration, tying cleats, deodorant, car trunks being unloaded, walkup music, steaming cleats after a day of tournaments, team shirts on the parents, umpires just barely older than the players holding it all together, and Dad coaches barely being able to stand it all.
