Martha Stewart

When I first hit the street in NY with my portfolio – it was a 16×20 book with prints of Annie Leibovitz working. That was all I had. I went up to Avenue Magazine – a B/W upper east side publication that used many great art photographers whose company I longed to join. After showing my book, the editor, Michael Shnayerson said, “These are great, we will put you on our “try to use” list.” I told Michael, “Don’t do that! I will never hear from you. I want an assignment right now!” That started our relationship. Months later he had me shoot Martha Stewart at her house in CT. I asked her what she looks like late at night after a hard day. This was how she posed.
