AMAZON WEB SERVICES

Over the past year, I’ve traveled the globe photographing the top Generative AI partners for AWS—a group of some of the most brilliant and forward-thinking minds in tech today. The challenge? Humanizing their stories in a way that defies the generic, corporate imagery so often used to portray this space.

My approach is deeply improvisational. I bring carefully chosen props—not as literal representations, but as metaphors that reflect each subject’s unique identity and work. Each shoot is a collaborative performance, shaped by what the subject shares and how I build a stage where they feel free to be fully themselves.

We’ve now completed over 25 shoots, and the momentum keeps building. What began as a bold creative experiment has turned into a growing, high-energy body of work—empowered by the trust of AWS (especially the support of Honora Handley) and the design vision of Joe Zeff Design. Their belief in this process has allowed me to do some of my best work.

In true 2025 fashion, I ask each AI expert if photography as I practice it is becoming obsolete. Every one of them insists my process is unique (and safe!). Not because the AI tools can’t replicate some of the output, but because what matters most can’t be automated: the intuition, the spontaneity, the joy, the spark of connection between two people in a room.
